We are at 3,300' about 25 miles north of downtown Tucson. It didn't last long, just a few hours. The snow turned to rain and that was quickly the end of the snow. Sunny and clear now.

Yup, elevation is the key! We got some nice rain, with a few flakes mixed in, here west of the Tucson Mountains at about 2,400 feet.

We're happy to get the rain, it should be a good spring for wildflowers! Some are already blooming, especially along the road over Gates Pass.

For those of you who are not here, this is the first cool day this month, been in the 70's the last week or so. And this is about the first precipitation since mid-December, so don't get the wrong idea from an anomaly. Been warm and dry here all winter.

It was 80 degrees in Tucson a couple of days ago. My daughter who lives over on the south east side of town only had some snow & rain mix...nothing on the ground. Soon after the clouds left, she said the snow which was on the mountains was soon gone.

They will be having hot weather soon enough and didn't mind a little cool down to keep the hot time at bay for a little longer.

Weather happens were ever you may live and can change quickly this time of year.

We had a few drops of rain & a bit of wind today in Las Cruces and it will be cooler tomorrow as well. 33 low 55 high.

Looks like the Mt. Lemmon ski area needs more snow. They are closed until they get more of the white stuff.

Well we awoke this morning to about 4" of the white stuff in our backyard.

First significant, if you will, this winter but we really need the moisture.

Now I probably should go out and shovel.

I got to leave the office early today due to snow. Started coming down around 12:30. The only way home is up out of the valley and over the pass, which is 3700' or so. By the time I got to the pass cars were sliding every which way. These Southern California drivers don't know how to handle it. Sure glad I grew up in Upstate NY!!!

A lot of people dont know that we have a ski resort in Tucson, it's about a 30 minute drive for us. Elevation 9000' and a great place to go in the summer to beat the heat.
