We are going to pick up our new used 2007 Forest River Lexington 283TS GTS Motorhome in 2 weeks and have a few questions. First, it has a Dometic Refrigerator/Freezer (Top Freezer and bottom door refrigerator). Is This refrigerator a 3-way or 2-way frig?. It has a Onan Microquiet 4000 Generator. Does this Onan generator has a changeable oil filter and if so what is the part #. Also, I would like the part # for the air filter. Thanks for the info.

Dunno about the reefer, but the Onan Micro series is splash lube, with no oil pump, so no oil filter.

rpgibbs, as you get into this RV thing, one thing you will find is that it's often difficult for folks to offer advice on specific appliances, or features, based only on the model of the RV. Unless someone with the exact same RV model, from the same year, happens to read your post the rest of us may just be guessing.

When delivered new, most RV's come with a rudimentary manual from the manufacturer which covers general operation and maintenance. They also usually have a packet which contains the manuals for every appliance and accessory in the unit from the various manufacturers. In addition, they should have a manual for the vehicle/chassis.

If you are lucky, these manuals will still be with the unit when you get it. If they aren't, most of the appliance and accessory manufacturers make their manuals available for download online.

In regard to your refrigerator, we have no way of knowing without knowing the model number and looking at your specs. However, very few RV's have three way refrigerators any more and it's unlikely that the one in your new RV is a three way.

Your question in regard to the generator has already been answered. The 4kw Onan MicroQuiet is splash lubed and has no oil filter.

Common recent popular "Americana Series" Dometic models:
Four Digits like 2652
2 - Americana series
6 - total cubic feet fridge + freezer
5 - non-adjustable temperature setting
2 - two-way (LPG and 120VAC) operation

So a 2863
2 - Americana
8 - eight cft
6 - temp adjustment on control panel
3 - LPG and 120VAC plus 12VDC
