Have a basic 3 LNB dish on a tripod now. Considering the Tailgater.
Is it really as simple as find an open area with clear view to the southern sky, connect the coax, plug in the power, turn on the vip211k receiver, turn on the TV, and it comes up ready to run?

Yes, but you must use it with the 211K satellite receiver. Works great.

I have the Wingard Cattyout, same principle, and yes it is that simple if you have the required sat box and follow the instructions.

Thats only if you want to change your service address to acquire the local stations at your present location. In which case you better have an RV account and not be using a 211K from your home account. DISH is getting picky about changing service addresses on home accounts.

Yep, it's that simple. You won't have local channels except in your service address area if that's important.
We've been doing the Tailgater thing since late November.
