We have a 2005 Winnebago Adventurer. When we were on our way home in December the left rear levelling jack would not come up. Had to use the manual bypass to be able to pry it up. Since then none of the jacks will go dowm. Can hear the pump running and there is not a sign of leaks. Could there be an air lock? Any suggestions?

OP, I don't have any suggestions, other than maybe to include the jack manufacturer - so those who know this stuff can give you some good advice.

Are they HWH? I can never get mine to work right during the winter. Once the weather warms up they work fine. Be sure to check the fluid level.

They are HWH with spring return and hydraulic down. That is why I thought maybe there was someway that I created an air lock. The day the trouble started we were in Louisiana and it was 78F. We drove 2400 miles home and were not able to put the jacks down whenever we stopped.

Also make sure the by-pass is fully closed and not leaking by.

I have a 2005 Adventurer too. This summer one of my jacks would not retract at a campsite. I could not physically get under the rig to release the hydrolic pressure and had to have a tech come out. Once home my regular service guy diagnosed one bad jack motor, which apparently affected the entire system. Additionally I replaced all the HWH springs with stronger springs now offered by HWH. The 4 jacks now work fine and retract much faster.
Just a note: the hydrolic slides pull from the same resevour as the jacks, so don't put off service too long.

Got the word today that the problem with my levelling jacks is not hydraulic related but the electronic circuit board is fried. HWH has got to make a new one and the delivery time is 4 to 6 weeks. This will put a big hole in the budget! Just what we needed when we were planing on escaping this snow.

Finally got the rig back from the shop where it was because of trouble with the levelling jacks. $1980.00 later we are infomed that the selenoids and the control board where burned out because of leaving the board activated after bypassing one selenoid. No where in the HWH manual does it say this. Beware!!
