This products is exactly for this problem. It would probably also stop any wind flapping

Throw a rope over the cover and tie it down at both ends forming a trough for the water to run out.
Haven't tried it but a piece of pvc pipe with holes along the length should drain it but how to get it up there and down again?

I tried deflated beach balls, but that kept moving the pool to another area. Also, not sure how to put or retrieve a ball 5' into the slide. I had the best luck with swim noodles. Had to find the large 4" diameter ones. Then I measured the height I thought would work. In my case the distance required a sliced noodle. I used shrink wrap on a stick to hold the 3 noodles together because it is easy to undo if I needed to adjust something. Also didn't want sticky tape in the heat. The one long slide I have pooling with requires 2 long and 2 short pieces. Keeping the short pieces on the ends allows you to reach them for removal.

I suppose retracting your slide with one of these in would not be good. I made a hanging cardboard sign over the slide switch. I also have to check for open cabinets before I open a slide.

Have put up with this problem for years and tried all suggestions except the air wedge. All work with varying results. None are perfect. The problem with beach balls is that winds will blow them out. I put them in a mesh bag with rope attached to the bag that I tied to each end of the slide. Throwing a rope or belt over the slide and tying it down stretches the fabric...did that once and it made a real; mess. Currently using pvc piping and it works but again..not perfect.

I wait till it stops raining & then open & close the slide. All the water will runoff, allowing the cover to dry nicely.

I don't think the ponding is any problem. Stretching the fabric? Hasn't been an issue for me. But the ponding does leave a stain on the top of the fabric. But few people will ever see it.

If it really bothers you, closing the slide with occasional stops, will allow the water to escape. Or else raise the front of your trailer up a couple of inches to get the water to runoff the rear of the topper.

That is one of the nice things about an auto-leveler system. Very easy to push the button to raise the rear stab's so you can raise the front. And then just push the button to auto level again. Back to level and no water on the slide toppers.

If they are on an older unit, you might look into torquing the retraction spring a bit to put more tension on the awning so it doesn't sag. Alternative is something under the awning to support it.

Lyle

If they are pooling water, the damage is done. The material in the center will stretch more than at the ends because the center doesn't have the stitching the ends have. Adding tension will only increase the force on the ends.

I would do as others have suggested and get some beach balls or make up something with PVC. JMHO

We tried these and they didn't work for us. The wedge wouldn't fit over the bedroom slide at all. We placed one over the living room slide and it worked fine but the wind continually blew it out.

Maybe others know something I don't to prevent the wind problem.

Thanks Sailor53,

Glad to get some feedback from an actual user. I was to order one for our slide unit but I will hold off for now. Might use pool noodles?

sailer53....I put a 2" wide strap over my Dometic/AE toppers. They do not have stitching on the edges (carefree does) and it stretched the******out of the edges of the topper. Like I said. it made a real mess out of that topper. I know some people do that and even add 90 degree PVC over the ropes they use. I never could get it to work though.
