It's amazing just how fast neglect and a little water can destroy a camper.. I went out yesterday to get the camper ready to go on a trip and noticed a little staining along the bottom of the front window on the inside. It’s pretty easy to see that the wood is decayed and it would be a major repair.. It’s a shame to haul this to the dump but I’m not up to working on it… Before you yell at me for not keeping up with the caulking..I had a major heart attack 2 years ago and yesterday was the first time I’ve been out to see the Lance. It’s been fun here..

Excellent point, thanks for sharing.
It reinforces the reason for checking for leaks, on your own RV or one you are considering buying.
As you know, a little water can do a lot of damage.
Maybe you can advertise it as a 'parts' camper? Someone may want it, even if you must give it away, it saves you the time/trouble of junking it.

It's a shame.. Everything inside is in gr8 shape.. Fridge, stove, microwave, furnace, awning. Even the electric jacks are in good shape.. I did put an ad on craigslist to see if anyone would haul it away..

-Yes, I haul a popup with a dually. No, I don't think I need a dually to haul a popup.

I sent a PM. I rebuilt a 99 1030 and would be happy to take it off your hands if no one else calls for it first.

I would hope that you would pay him a fair price for it rather than just take it for free. This poor guy has had a really bad 2 years just trying to stay alive. Please do not add insult to injury just because he seems to be in a position that you can. We all on here are a great group of campers that don't want to intentionally take advantage of one another.

I for one would be interested in feedback from the OP that he got what he feels is a fair price for it and DID NOT just have to GIVE IT AWAY.

Don't you all agree?

If he were in Alaska, I or one of my buddies would have offered a reasonable price. I know that just buying the appliances for my Avion rebuild have been quite pricey...
Having a parts camper to "Glean" from would have been really nice!

I certainly cannot tell from the photos but the damage might not be as bad as you think. Fix the leak, let it dry out and then do some checking - with a screwdriver if necessary.
