Chad spends the off-season looking for all the gray areas in the rulebook.

OK, so NASCAR found it in the pre-race inspection. PRE-RACE! If you're going to dock a team for a violation that never made it to the track, why even have a pre-race inspection? I'm not a huge Hendricks fan but IMHO the penalty was excessive.

Could you IMAGING if all teams CHEATED for pre-race inspection???? It would take 6 days to check the cars. CHEATING Chad has been caught 10 times for cheating...10 times..IMO THE PENALTY WAS NOT ENOUGH.

Do you think they were going to weld on a legal part before the race actually started?

For you guys freaking out over Chad Knaus, do a search on Smokey Yunick......... One of the greatest NASCAR wrenches ever.

Smokey, in his day, got caught "cheating" more than any other car owner/crew chief. Why did he get caught more? Because he won more. The more you win the more they inspect you.

Same with Chad Knaus. He wins more, thus he gets inspected more. More inspections are going to result in more violations.

I get a kick out of the comments on here from the Jimmie Johnson/Chad Knaus haterz....... If Chad Knaus were the crew chief for your boy, you guys would be singing a different tune.

I'd be willing to bet that the other teams are bending the rules as much as Chad, but because their driver doesn't win as often NASCAR doesn't have a reason to go over them with a microscope.

Do you guys KNOW that the car that NASCAR kicked back and fined the 48 team for, is the EXACT SAME CAR that ran 4 plate races last year and PASSED all inspections, as it did at Daytona, but NASCAR, being NASCAR, just did not like the looks of it NOR DID THEY TEST IT !!!

?

Got proof of that, or do you believe everything the cheaters tell you?

Just because Rick said it was the same car doesn't mean it was

They just kicked it back so TOYOTA, who funds NASCAR NOW, could have a Chinamans chance in the chase.

Or do you really care?

Where were you cryers when JOE GIBBS RACING last year, tried to use unapproved HIGHLY doctor OIL PANS ?

I doesn't have to be a rule for NASCAR to enforce it.

Seriously, look up Smokey Yunick...........NASCAR used to make up rules on the spot to stop Smokey's "cheating".

I would like to see one race where they put true Impalas, Camrys, Fusions and Chargers on the track. Then let's see which brand has a true Stock Car. The cookie cutter mentality today is NOT Stock Car racing.

BTW: Posted 3/21/12:
Appeals ruling goes only so far
In the end, process favors Hendrick, Knaus; court of opinion a different matter.

People complain about the 48 owner and team, yet completely ignore this little tidbit....NASCAR should be the one held accountable and with this statement, it's obvious they are NOT.

"After Talladega last year, our 48 car was the random car drawn every week for additional tear-down inspections at the R&D Center."
