Even though I am not American, I just love this collection of recently discovered pictures. I would love to have had a beer in 'Frenchies Bar' in picture 38.

Thanks for posting those, Orion. It shows that people never change, just styles. That was a nice way to spend a few minutes on a Saturday morning with a cup of coffee.

Before my time,but great pics.And not an I-pod or cell phone in any pic.Would like to see a 2012 version of the pics now,phones glued to the ears,traffic jams,lines in the stores and every thing but relaxing.

Thanks for the post. It brought back memories. Especially the pics of the guys working the rip tracks in the rail yards. I had a summer job doing that during my college years. The job hadn't changed much by the 60's. I've never been that dirty before or since, but it did encourage me to finish college.

Retired and visiting as much of this beautiful country as I can.
