Anyone use a late model Chev Colorado 4wh drive pickup as a dingy behind their DP's..?
Im wondering just how well ( or not) they work as a toad.
Any help greatly appreciated.

We have a 2011 Colorado 4x4 - auto transmission. Love it for towing behind the MH. Just follow the directions in the owners manual, plug and play.
We had a 2006 Jeep Wrangler, needed a pick up and the Colorado was the choice. I am telling you this because it is simpler to tow and more "Tow Frindly" than the Jeep.

I posted the same question last year before I purchased mine. Here are some of the replies:
Wille, I've been towing my 2005 4x4 GMC Canyon for 5 years fulltime.
You're correct, its a very convenient toad, put the 4x4 transfer case in Neutral, shut it off, take the key out and away you go. No stopping, no speed limit, no battery drain, no mileage recorded while towing. I've had abolutely no problems with mine, but like any vehicle or RV, I read about others that have had issues. I perfer using a pickup as toad for the extra storage space in the bed. The disadvantage is, its not real comfortable for passengers in the back seat, if you frequently haul around more than 1 passenger.
Willie, Please do some extensive reading about these vehicles in general. They have gotten absolutely terrible owner comments.
I tow 2005 Canyon. Bought it new. Best toad I have ever owned.

I tow a 2006 GMC Canyon 4wd Crewcab. It has been a great tow as well as an every day drive. Go for it.

A few years back I thought I would buy one. Took it for a test drive and it remined me of a Chevette. Road noise and that idiotic 5 cyl engine make it one of the worst vehicles on the road. Look at the sales figures and you will quickly see that you should look elsewhere. Reliability of a Vega. And I am a GM guy!!

I have towed a 2004 GMC Canyon, 4x4, offroad with auto trans for the past 3 years. It has been trouble free & has 68k on it now. Oh, 20+ mpg with the 5 cylinder engine. I had a 96 Ford Ranger before & it was a good toad also.

We towed our 2000 Jeep Wrangler for years, and it worked fine. To get more room for "stuff" we now tow a 2009 Colorado. It tows just as easily as the Jeep. The Colorado is heavier even before we fill the bed with stuff, and I'm not a fan of the electric transfer case, but it all works just fine.
If you need the room and don't mind the added weight, I think the Colorado is a good towed.

OK people...appreciate the input. I was at the Chevy dealership the day I posted this. Salesman and sales MANAGER both said NOPE...NO WAY! ( I just looked at both and started to laugh)
I downloaded the info from FMCA and it says...of course....YES I can tow it four down.
Im going to call up in Michigan this next week and get the story from the truck people themselves
Appreciate the input!

We tow a 2008 Colorado 4 door 4x4 and love it.
Easy to set up with no modifications except tow brackets.
To tow, there is a button on the dash to get it ready to tow.
We have towed it and driven it for many miles with no problems. We carry a Honda Ruckus scooter in the bed. We have a 33' DP.
