If you get 8 miles per gallon, it will cost you 50 cents a mile at $4.00 per gallon of gasoline. If you get 12 miles per gallon, as many Diesels do, it will cost you just under 37 cents per mile at $4.35 per gallon. KEEP READING AND RESPONDING!!!!!

I don't believe that many Class A motorhomes get the 12 mpg as you state. More in the 7 to 9 range. So up goes the cost per mile.

Class A; take the 12 miles to a gallon and divide that by 2 and you come at lot closer to the truth.

Budget a buck a mile, then you will have the extra for repairs and regular stuff. I reckon most owners put on an average of 3000 miles a month for six months of the year. That about covers me for truck maintenance and depreciation plus of course fuel.

$1 good rule of thumb.
We put on 8000 mile in 31 days last summber/fall and spent $3600 for gas only but some was $3 too.

Break out the Credit Card.....fill up the tank, and enjoy the trip. Worry about the cost when you get back home!
Yes, it's tough to stand by that gas pump, and watch the dollars spinning by, but when you think of the enjoyment you are getting, it really isn't all that much!!

I'm on vacation and don't care what the cost is. I'm away from work and home, that is all that matters.
