The reason Vermont keeps them trees sooooooo close to the road?

They WANT you to stay there and spend ALLLLL your money!!!!

If you can turn around and escape all the REST of the tourists how they gonna be able to DO that?????

LOL!!!!

I live next to Vermont---in fact the bordering towns in Vt send their HS kids to our NY school----and there is a huge disparity of rich---super rich---and dirt poor.

If you NEED to turn around in such places tho look for either a PLOW TURNAROUND---them snow plows we use here are BIG and need a large radius to turn---or a SCHOOL BUS TURN OUT.

Also be VERY CAREFUL in Vermont---a little known but LEGAL bit if trivia is that it is LEGAL to PASS across a double SOLID line IF the driver feels it is SAFE. This might mean that you in the RV are NOT safe as most VT roads are very narrow and many have a mountain on one side and a river on the other.

If you are planning to travel here this summer---and PLEASE DO COME!!!!---be aware that after Hurricane Irene the roads are fixed but some are less than perfect so far. Most of the bridges that were affected have been re-opened--the covered bridges that washed away will probably not be replaced or might be replaced with different sorts of bridges. IF you are looking to TROUT FISH the Battenkill the stream has some new and different features and lots and lots of dead fall and bottom changes---this will NOT be the same river you stepped into last time and please do NOT be the guy that gets cocky and drowns because of this. Check with ORVIS or one of the local guide companies to find out where to avoid and where to go. The VT/NY border "Trophy Section" seems to have "suffered" less overt damage but BE CAREFUL.

There are several nice RV friendly areas around the NY/VT border in SHUSHAN, CAMBRIDGE NY and ARLINGTON and DORSET VT.

LennyH, congrats on your new adventure! I am a truck driver and MH owner. My advice is from a safety stand point on driving. If you have limited or no experience driving a MH or a LARGE Vehicle before across two lane roads or on an interstate, there is ALOT to learn. All the prepin' and list of forgotten things won't do you any good if you crash your unit. Get to 'know' your MH.
They are tall, can sway alot. High winds will blow you all over the road. I have seen the awning come off units while driving in high winds.Limbs on trees are hell on awnings and roofs.Slow to take off, and greater stopping distance is a must. Making turns will be made a bit wider. Drive ways into and out of gas stations (any driveway)...am I gonna drag?? Know your length of the whole unit with tow vehicle. If you have the driving experience, then you know all this stuff. Most of it is common sense. Don't be afraid to ask questions. Travel safe and enjoy!!

One safety tip I learned last weekend. we purchased tiki torches with metal stands to sit outside around our campsite. Little did we know that open flames on sticks around an RV in the wind may not mix well with lp tanks and lp appliances. Take time to share your adventures and all of your helpful RV hints with someone today. Not only will you be helping them on their current trip, the valuable knowledge you share, they may share with another RVer on down the road.

Happy RVing

Does any one know if we can add air bags to our MH? The MH is a Coachmen Marada 2012, IT rides nice but I think if air bags can be added it may be a smoother ride. Also can someone tell he how add pictures?

There are a few companies that offer a conversion, I think maybe kelderman??? might be one of them. There are systems shown on Camping World's on line catalogue.
Don't pesonally know anyone who has made the change.

Here is the web site for the Kelderman modification. It is an expensive change. For my chassis the MSRP is $2200 for the front and $1600 for the rear if I do the install labor. Not sure if adding just air bags without modifying the springs (leaf or coil) will be fully effective and achieve the results you desire.

To up load images/pictures you will need to establish an account with a internet based file sharing host. Photobucket is probably your best choice, plus it's free and easy to use. Once you have an account and uploaded pics to the site then if you hover the mouse over the image a window will pop up with gives you various linking addresses. Click on 'Direct Link'. Then get back into the forum and when you are posting a message click on the fifth icon counting right to left above the text box (to the right of the icon that looks like an envelope). If you hover over the icon it's name is 'Image'. Paste the Photobucket address (URL) in the address box then set the image size. Keep images under 640 height X 480 width. The click finish to get back to the message page. Post message as you normally would. More forum info can be found here.

Good morning everyone. Well we were getting ready for our first trip. However the weather changed and now we are getting SNOW, all winter we had little to almost no snow and of course now it snow’s.
I am still trying to post some picture of our new Coachmen Marada 2012, our first Motor Home and we can’t wait to start our advantage! We are located in North East PA and can’t wait for the winter to be over, but we wont be around for winter from this time forward that’s one of the reasons we got our MH, BYE, BYE winter, I hope anyway! We hope to visit Alaska this summer hopefully, and it appears to cost around $6,400 in fuel alone, now I understand why when we were looking for MH, why they had low mileage.
But I think you still can’t bet it…. Has anyone have any advice in regards to traveling to Alaska??

Well I finally figured out how to post Pictures, Well here is a Picture of our first Motor Home, it’s a Coachman 2012 Marada. We well probably only keep this unit for 1 to 2 years then up grade, (So if anyone in interested drop me a Massage) the reason for us to up grade there are a few more features that we already would like to have, The unit runs great a lot of room, feed thru storage in the basement, a lot of extras, however it is only 36’ with 2 slides but a beautiful unit…

I grew up in Northeast Pa. One thing I suggest is that you rinse the underside real we good because of the salt on the roads. Atleast till the rain has a good chance to wash it off.
