Well here we are March 1 2012 and we are getting itchy to start out on our first trip with our MH! A trip to No Where! I have no idea where we are going but I do know for sure we are going….There seems to be so many possibilities and places to see we really don’t know where to start, I know for sure where we will start and end our trip, But what is in between “start & end” Not sure right now….Any ideas?

Once YOU look at a new post it is no longer NEW on your log in - if I haven't checked in to that thread yet it will still show as NEW on my log in. (not sure if that is log in sensitive or computer specific - cookie driven).

As for your question about Alaska go to my blog (for one) in the signature below and start reading from late May through mid August 2011. Fuel cost is fuel cost, the drive from Canadian Border to Dawson City is over 1,500 miles and that just gets you to Alaska via the Klondike Loop, still leaves you with all 2,500 miles of mostly paved roads in AK to cover and return. Save driving and fuel and spend it on the Marine Highway, but book now. We didn't, who can plan that far ahead?

I here some people talking about using a compressor to blow out there water lines in there RV as well as for there tires, Does any one know what size compressor is needed to do this? It sounds like a good idea instant of using RV antifreeze ! When I winterized my RV this Year, being my first RV, I used around 7 Gallons of antifreeze…..I never new that you were suppose to turn the By-Pass on the water heater! Well every day you learn something new.

Any good 120 PSI compressor will work. Just be careful with the pressure you're using for the water lines. 120PSI would be a pretty heavy stress test. I used a Harbor Freight regulator/filter to drop the pressure down to 50. You will also need a blow out fitting. Avoid this type fitting if you have a compressor.

Don't forget about your water pump. Using compressed air at the city water connection will not get water out of the pump. I have my pump set up so I can just remove it and not worry. Also you still need a couple of cups of antifreeze in all your drain traps and a bit in the toilet bowl to keep the seal wet. I save the antifreeze when I flush the engine cooling system and reuse it in the drains and at the waste tank drain valves.

Still being in April, the cold weather could be an issue. I would head South. If this is your very first trip in a Motor Home,I would stay away from driving through the big cities on the weekdays. Traffic can be pretty stressful at first. Not pushing any specific clubs, but look into them. We be long to Pass Port America and get RV park prices cut in half. Like others said, try to find a RV Park as your destination, before 4 o'clock in the afternoon. Alot of bad things can happen when trying to pull in to some where in the dark.

Have fun and enjoy the Country.
