Has anyone ever tried to connect gray tank to the black in such a way that the gray could be drained into the black to give added flush-out source? Would of course have to have a way to close it off from the black until ready to flush.

There are a couple of forum members that have done this. One particular one did a great job with a pump that he could activate. Try a search and see if you can find it.

Gravity Rules!!!!!! Depends on valve setup, but I can hold the slinky up about waist high after dumping black, then open gray letting a bunch of grey into the black tank, close grey, drop hose and the black tank is rinsed. More whoosh...gravity rules. Then close and finish grey dump. Hmmm simple works best.

Add another knife valve near the end of the rv system where the waste hose attaches. close the new valve after the black has drained, open the gray allowing it to flow into the black tank, close the gray and open the new valve to drain the black again. Unless you have two complete different dump places this works well.

x2. I just put a twist on gate valve on the dump tube when I dump. close the
1) open twist on, open black, drain
2) close twist on, leave black open, open grey
3) when equalized, close grey, open twist on, dump black
4) close black, open the grey to finish emptying.
when done, remove the twist on and store it with all the dump stuff
BTW, if the grey gets full on you, you can use the same "trick" to dump grey into black and give you some more room in the grey tank.

When dry camping for an extended period and the gray tank is filling up, I have used my macerator pump to pump the gray water thru the black tank rinser into the black tank.

Or catch the sink water in a bucket and flush the toilet with it, not using up the gray space and saving a bit of fresh water....

Pick up couple of slip/glue flanges and a drain valve. Cut drain line down by end cap. Glue the two flanges on ends of drain line and install drain valve.
Three benefits......
1) Extra valve in line at end cap....if drain tank valves leak no surprises when you remove end cap
2) Extra valve can be used to equalize tanks or used to back flow into other waste tank
3) Extra valve on line....no extra storage/handling needed

3" Drain valve (1 1/2" & 2" available)

Slip/glue flanges.....use ABS glue
