a couple of the front decals on the trailer are peeling off in spots. It appears to be only the front ones. At this point it is not really bad, but I can only imagine what they will look like in a couple years. I'll post pictures when I can.

The trailer will be a year old come the end of April. Does the warranty start from the day you purchased it from the dealer?

As anyone had this problem and had luck getting it fixed? Do I start with the dealer or go right to Dutchmen? The problem is the trailer will be snow'd in until some time later in March, so I only have April to get it fixed before the warranty is up.

Thanks

Send an email with photos to each (in the same email) so both will know the other one is seeing the same thing.

It is not going to get better but worse.

Red Max Pro #3 did wonders for our 20 year old sun damaged decals but our decals were not defective when new.

Don't have defective decals replaced with more that will be defective. Have the dealer remove them all while the TT is new and they come off while making and leaving fade marks. I wish I would have done that. Then have a couple of nice stripes painted on if you want.

Not likely it will be a warranty item as warranties SELDOM cover appearance issues. It wouldn't hurt to ASK about getting them replaced as it would certainly not make a good impression on those viewing your virtually new trailer but they would not be OBLIGATED to replace them. Chances are your DEALER is not going to do it but the manufacturer MIGHT at least furnish a new set of decals.

If it were me I'd just remove the REST of the decals and refuse to be a rolling billboard for them if they DIDN'T offer to replace them.

Start with the Dealer and NOW. The warranty starts the day you take delivery. Take pictures and take or send them to the dealer and make an appointment for service/repairs before the warrany expires. They may order the decals before seeing the trailer and then have it repaired in one trip.

This could be one good option.

Our's did the same thing and no the warranty did not cover it but we didn't fight very hard......I did manage to clean them up it took LOTS OF WORK. We camped next to a guy that owned a painting place and he told us that the RV places tried using a new type of decal to save money and this is happening all over the place to all kinds of makes and models.....Really makes me mad after paying top dollar for our trailers and then end up with this kind of stuff....

Those labels are hopeless. I'm going to give in and have the front of myTT repainted this spring. I wonder what that will cost?

My Kodiak Trailer has the same problem. All the decals are badly faded and peeling. Im thinking of several things to fix it. You can get them off with products such as Vinyl Off. (http://www.crystaltek.us.com/crystaltek-vinyl-off.htm)

Mine has a fiberglass exterior, so a lite sanding and it should be easy to re-paint the whole thing with Epoxy Paint. Then I will either leave it like that or Get some stencils cut and paint some designs on it myself.

Then shoot the whole thing with UV Resistant Clear Coat.

Update, this is what I received from Dutchmen:

"Your travel trailer is still within our 1 yr. from date of purchase warranty. You can take it to a Dutchmen dealer to replace the decals under warranty. Cracking or peeling decals are not considered cosmetic."

Very helpful, I will take it to the dealer, as soon as some snow melts from my driveway
