I haven't been on the trace since 2003. After reading these post. We will make a trip in late March from Natchez to the Meriwether Lewis area. Also in 2003 there was a good car museum in Tupelo, MS. it should be better now as they had just opened it in 03.
Thanks ALL -Plan on staying at state park in Tupelo and should have plenty time to sight see-we will end up in NATHEZ state park in southern MS--then continue to FL-Rich

Yes it is CHASTHO but we are in no hurry-We are planning 63 days on the road-I've heard so much about the Nathez trail We decided to include it on our way to Florida-The days of going like crazy to get there are gone so one of our bucket things was to drive the trace--Maybe in a few years will try heading to the west but our 1991 Bounder is old for mountain trips so for now we pretty much stay on flatter lands--RICH

You're not alone. We'll be taking the trail north to Michigan with our older F53 also for pretty much the same reasons. Heck we're retired, we earned the right to slow down and smell the roses.
Only issue I'm concerned about is going down the Natchez with our older rig is it sounds like no shoulders to pull off on, and possibly no cell phone service to call for a tow if you have too. Not that we would need one, but it's always nice to be prepared.
When we were making trips to Cincinnati (FMCA Committee work) from Texas, we would often take the Trace. Beautiful, particularly in spring (dogwoods) and fall (turning leafs).
Camper ron --DO IT--Sounds like good roads and plenty to see-They say that ELVIS's house is in Tupelo Ms and we planning on staying at the state park so that will be a must see-When are you heading that way??--Rich
