This has been a great experience as you all know the saying "You know who your friends are". I got a call from my friend a few hours later and after he spoke with Ford, Travel Lite, he cancelled his purchase and will either save up for a bigger truck or just continue to use their TT. Both he and his wife thanked me for my opinion and we are still our friends. I directed them to various sites including this great site for informative reading on truck campers. They just did not know that there was so much to consider in buying a slide in. Now that they are on the informative side as someone here stated they will not be so easily pursuaded by the shady dealers that are out there and that makes my day.

Send your friend to the Livin Lite web site. They have a hard sided TC that weighs 1600 lbs. that will fit his truck, It has a wet bath I believe it is the 6.8 model.

I looked at those Livin Lites and thought they were pretty slick until I saw the gray/black tank capacities... only 7 gallons each? They need to do something to get those bigger.

Unless he told you he wanted a camper before he bought the truck. ;-)
I was lucky enough to have done a lot of research on what camper I wanted before I bought my truck to haul it. I wanted at least one step up in truck than what was going to be required to provide some flexibility. I've never regretted the decision on either the truck or the camper.

Unfortunately, the next guy would show up with the same rig and claim it handles "Just Fine(tm)" and would recommend it to anyone.
Never understood if they REALLY felt that way, or if their pride prevented them from admitting there was a problem.
