We have another site available for Feb. 22,23,24,25 on the water at
Curry Hammock.
If anyone is interested please let us know.
I'm curious .... Can one party have two sites or two reservations simultaneously at the same Florida state park? ... and how do you transfer it to another party? Is the Parks Department involved? Is money paid by one party to the other? What is the process?
Inquiring minds need to know!

I've done it in the past where the person just told me that they were going to cancel their site at 12:00 noon and then I made sure that I was on the computer at 11:59 and kept refreshing the screen until I saw the site pup up. park not involved and no money exchanged hands. Just 1 fellow RV.net'r trying to help another.

Two sites at same park as long as they are for two different rvs (eg.one site for us and one for daughter, so different names for 'occupant'). You can transfer on line as the other poster said, but there is a chance of losing it if someone is faster.
eg. The site we have is booked until the end of the month. We are leaving it for 4 days in the middle of the reservation. If someone would like it, they would pay us the $43 per night and both of us would go to the Ranger station and change the name of occupant for those 4 days.
I would like to see stricter cancellation and reservation policies.
It's impossible to get a waterfront site at the SP's in the Keys.
Why not have a lottery as the State of Florida does for hunting the WMA's?

It is not "impossible" to get a waterfront site at a Florida SP in the Keys. It happens every day. We have managed to score a great 14-day site for each of the last three years. It does take persistence and the commitment to book 11 months in advance, along with a little flexibility. Those with the greatest desire (and a little luck!) will win the sites.
Like it or not, the rules are the same for everyone.
RVCRUISER-Everyone on this site is just like that other guy that is whining so in the future, just PM or email me directly for those spots that open up.
Really, if you want to do the work to reserve a spot a year in advance and then want to "sublet" it for a few days, who cares. It is your dime. They shouldn't complain to you. What they should do it complain to the state of FL and ask them to make prime waterfront spots available for only 5 days at a time. Better yet, get RA on your side with this idea they will help you as they will make more money making more reservations.

Yup..we have had waterfront sites in the Keys from Dec.4th (well, John Pennekamp was not waterfront, but a large, good site)until now...actually booked until March 24th. Then we head up to the Florida mainland.
fyi Did not start booking until November...all sites were cancellations. So it is possible, although it takes a lot of time and patience (and definitely LUCK).
