Trying to decide if I should purchase the Good Sam Extended Warranty program on my recently purchased 2004 Winnebago Minnie Winnie with E450 Ford. The milege is 11.988. Has anyone had a experience with their warranty plans?? Is it worth the approx $900.00 with a $500 deductable ?

In my opinion it's not. When our 5'er finally ran out of warranty last year we deposited $3000 into a seldom used savings account and make monthly $100 deposits to it to be used when something breaks.
Happy camping!!! See y'all down the road!!!

Put the cost of the extended warranty in the bank; use it when you have to have something done - you will come out ahead. I was told to do this many years ago; I have done it with two trailers, and now a MH...I have been able to do the majority of the work myself. Safe travels.
I would have to disagree - my extended warranty plan cost approx $1.00 per day that is not much to pay should something go wrong over the next 5 years. $1 per day for peace of mind - it don't get no cheaper than this!

Insurers love to sell extended warranties on brand new things since that is a pretty sure bet for them, that the item is unlikely to break until it gets older. That is why I have never bought an extended warranty on anything new, whether it be a car, dvd player, refrigerator, etc.
On a used motorhome however, you do not know the history of it, how was it cared for, are there hidden flaws, why did the previous owner give it up and only 11k miles in 8 years? In this case an extended warranty can protect you from a catastrophic, expensive failure, and gives you time to get some history with the rig, get some run time with all the rv systems and chassis, and do preventative maintenance. A 1 year, $1000 deductible policy would give you time to establish this history.
Great advise. I to do not normally purchase extenred warranties but in this case, not knowing history or having No experience with RVing I may just buy it for 1st year. Thanks again.
