Woodalls was a lifesaver this past spring and summer. After finding a campground near where we wanted to be we checked to see if it was Passport America which is a great money saver!

I use the traailer Life RV book. About lunch time, we decide how many more miles we think we will be driving that day, find a city on the map that is about that distance, open the trailer life book and find a park not to far off the interstate. For example we are driving on I 80 East, it is noon, we decide we will drive 3 more hours, at 60 MPH that would be one mile a minute or 180 miles. Look at the map and we find the closest city/town that is 180 miles down the hwy, look in the book, find a camp, give them a call, reserve a spot, and drive away knowing that we will have a spot when we arrive. Works for us.

If you're looking for "campgrounds" I'd recommend "Don Wrights Guide to Free and Under $12.00 Camping). It has a FEW RV parks but mostly campgrounds as long as they meet the criteria in the title. It's been my experience that most of what you find right along Interstate highways will be RV Parks.

The Rand McNally GPS 5510 & 7710 have a feature that lets you look at upcoming exits. You can also ask it to search for campgrounds along your route.
I have to admit that I am more likely to use my Trailer Life Directory maps and pick something from there.

The problem with most printed directories is that you have to know the town where it's located so you have to pay attention to your Atlas and where you're located on the interstate highway to be able to find a campground. I stopped carrying all the books because they were cumbersome. Before we bought the GPS I planned our stops and found a suitable campground on www.woodalls.com and checked for reviews on www.rvparkreviews.com
