If you have vehicles in a garage at home, your insurance company will lower the monthly to around 4.50 per month per vehicle for having it stored. Phones can be put on a vacation rate, heating goes way down, electrical goes way down. I figure that I save around 350 per month at home.

The East Valley of Phoenix is full of RV Resorts and lots on RC fields. Our RV resort has a paved oval RC race track. A bunch of us race 1/10 scale RC trucks each afternoon.

Quartzsite has a beautiful paved RC runway, painted centerline etc. I just got back from boondocking out there. Using the BLM LTVA (Bureau of land management, Long Term Visitor Area) the cost is $180 this is good from Oct to the end of April. Camp anywhere in the LTVAm move as often as you want, and you have full use of the Dump Station and Water fill stations. This fee also applies to the LTVA's in CA. Move freely among them no additionial fee. But if you are going to spend the whole winter you will probably want to invest in a solar power system and that will add $1500 - $2500. LOts of Solar info in the Tech forum here on RV.NET. Jan and Feb temps 65 to 75 daytime night time temps 39 to 46 this year. Had one day with a high of 84.
Keeping nice and toasty I used 30# of LP per week. average LP cost was $2.35 in Yuma and $2.75 in Q. Groceries are best purchased in Parker 40 miles north or Yuma 80 miles south.
There are lots of RV parks in the area mountains in your back yard. Parker, Yuma etc are nice areas.
If interested PM me for more details.

I left Ct Jan 14th and have been traveling the SW part of the country. I have been traveling for 50 days to date as for as S Ca., Az, Tx. in Fl. now. We have put on over 5000 miles and have spent $2444 on gas which was the biggest expense. Spent $4691 to date or $92/day. Camping was free at Quartzsite and $4/night at San Padre Island, free if you wanted to camp right on the beach. Like others have said if you want to stay in one area longer it would be even less expensive, however I don't think I could have done this any cheaper traveling in a car and staying in hotels each night despite the high gas prices. Hope this helps.

I think some go overboard.

Figure your miles per gallon. Then figure how many gallons you will need to get there and back. Then decide how many miles you will drive once you get there. Figure 40 miles a day if you have no clue.

Park rent will run from 500 to 750 plus elec. You can figure 75 bucks for sure a month.

Propane, probally 20 bucks for the winter.

everything else you control , food, entertainment, cell phone, internet, tv cable or not. Postage stamps, laundry.

Hope this helps you.

Not sure where you are staying but this past winter we paid $299 a month with cable and electric included for a spot right on the Colorado River in Parker. It pays to shop around.
