I bought my back up camera from Ebay Leviathan-holdings, I made a bracket and mounted it on my roof ladder up high, the higher the better.

It came the a coiled cord and plugs for the bumper connection. I used a empty battery box to coil the extra camera cord and a place to mount the trailer side coiled cord connector.

The built in microphone has saved my marrage, when we back into a camping site camera+mic combo makes it easy see, hear, and watch her directions, with out her making sure that she is in my mirrors. No yelling needed. We tried walkie talkies but the whole push-to-talk button thing was too much for her.

Our camera has a lot of Infra-red LEDs that shines 30 feet behind the TT at night and make backing into a camp site after dark a breeze, ok not a breeze but not bad.

I have the 7" screen that mounts on some velcro that is under rubber mat in the dash-top tray on my F150. When not in use I keep the screen in a foam lined handgun case.

So far the back up camera is the best mod that I have made to the Jayco.

I have a hard wired rear camera on my 5th wheel. I run coax from camera to pin box. I get the 12 volt from the tail lights. I used the center pin of the 7 way for the video. Then from truck connector run coax to monitor in truck cab. Requires turning on tail lights when traveling but found that not to be a problem with led tail lights on trailer. I get very little interference with such a short run of non coax. I tried the wireless but got interference every time a truck passed and from nearby power lines.

For the rear camEras I used a license plate mount from rearviewsafety. For the side view cameras, I mounted them where I could thru bolt them. aLL were sealed in silicon.

I would be leary to mount with sheet metal or wood screws. The rearviewsafety cameras are well made and weigh a bit.

rearviewsafety cameras also have infrared leds for night use...

Look at Crutchfield (I think Crutchfield dot com) they have backup cameras and post all manuals online. I looked at one with a "connection kit" for the rca cable. I talked with them and 42 feet is no problem.

Does anyone use the drill-fill-drill technique like is done on boats? Drill the hole oversized; fill it with epoxy; re-drill into the hardened epoxy.

Sure but Rivit Nuts are easier for low stress items like this.

Investigate a Rivit Nut kit from Princess Auto. Drill a hole -insert and expand the rivit nut, remove tool. Caulk it and install camera bracket.
