No, the freezer hardly keeps ice cream cold enough, if we turn it down things in the refrigerator freeze.

Then go to higher setting (colder) for colder freezer section and move the thermistor in fridge section Down. Wait 24 hrs. and check temps. If fridge is still to cold lower thermistor again or if at bottom of fin move it over to next fin. Takes a little patience but if cooling unit is working properly with adjustments to thermistor position/location you can get a balance between freezer section and fridge section.

You should be shooting for a thermistor temperature of 34 degrees when everything is running just right. This will give you cold food in the fridge portion with no freezing, and a hard freeze in the freezer.

To access the thermistor temperature, go into the diagnostics, press and hold MODE and TEMP SET, then press mode until screen "3" appears. Two digits will flash on the screen. That is your thermistor temperature.

Now that I think about it, the 611 may not have an electronic optical panel, so you may not be able to perform diagnostics as described above.

Is the thermistor on the fifth fin from the right?

There are 27 fins, the thermistor is on the 10th fin from the right, 1-1/2" down from the top.

You might want to try moving the thermistor. I will check tomorrow, but I'm 99% confident that the Norcold spec is 5th fin from the right.

We keep our thermistor on the 2nd fin from the right and about 1" down from the top. Keeps fridge at 34-36 and the freezer at 5-7. Of course, ours is a model 1210 which is probably totally different from yours.

Great Thread, I've got a Norcold (not sure on the model 26?? something). Been trying to figure out which way to put the thermistor for getting colder and which fin. Up colder/down warmer - great. Now to settle on which fin. I'll try the 5th, I think it it is currently on the 1st or 2nd from right.

I wired in a computer fan that powers from the light switch (hot side so always on) and this helped out a lot.

10th....better get out the manual for my model, but I don't think it said anything about this the last time I was looking at it.

Just to update my previous post, the thermistor should be on the tenth fin from the right, not the fifth fin as I previously reported. Dusty R is correct. I was going off memory, but checked my Norcold service manuals this morning to confirm.

Keep in mind, I was speaking with respect to the N6xx fridge that the OP says he has. I do know that some other models have it positioned differently. I've seen it also on the 5th fin on other Norcold models. Check your manuals just to be sure.

Checked the manual for mine RM2652 and nothing said about which fin or location. Also, downloaded several service manuals and none of them talk out the Thermistor position.

Right now it is on the first fin from right. Not sure it can go too much left because of the length of wire.
