We are looking at getting a Winegard Carry Out and for that will need a 211k receiver right ?

We have two Television sets now - one in front room & one in bedroom.

if we want just what we have now which is one TV receiving Dish, can we do a direct switch-over from one receiver to another ?

When we initially had receiver installed it was done by an electronic shop which made all the necessary wiring, etc. and that was when we were in the Mid-West. Now we are primarily in the West Coast states.

But we are full-timers and disconnected our Dish a year ago .. but have changed back to traveling and siting in non-cable-tv rv parks again, so thus want satellite again.

DH gets so frustrated with the satellite dish that I am thinking a Father's Day gift of an upgrade ... we are in a travel trailer - not that makes much difference.

Have spent three hours researching both here and on the web for information ... now kinda confused ..

Also are the three domes any different except for white, black or cameo ?

Oh, and whether to have it once again installed by an independent dealer or an rv dealer ?

Look at the tailgater. It's a lot cheaper than the carryout. You only can watch 1 tv at a time though.. You can use 211k or 211 that has updated software.. I use both 211 and 211k..

Yes you can, the Winegard Carryout will work with either the 311 or the 211K with only a minor setup change of the dip switches on the antenna. This setup info is detailed in the owners manual.

The Winegard Carryout is able to receive both Dish Western Arc (sats 110, 119, & 129) and Eastern Arc (sats 61.5, 72, and 77) + you can connect 2 separate dish receivers to it.

If you're traveling the country, having both WA and EA capability is great.

It would still be cheaper to buy the Tailgater and the new 211k and get high definition as well. I bought a 211K brand new on eBay for $100. No electrician required to change the receiver , just connect the coax from the 311 to the 211k and plug it in.

I just reviewed my receipt. I paid $309 for the tailgater & was able to swap my dish receiver to a 211k without any charge. I dealt with my local installer, not the national dish people, although the national dish sent me a box to return my old receiver.

So instead of buying both a Tailgater & receiver, we could just buy the Winegard Carryout ?

I bought the tailgater last fall for around $350. I think the Winegard is much more and wonder why you would get it if you're only using 1 tv.
