We are going to be on the east coast this summer and we made this add to put on craigslist. Has anybody did this before and has it worked?

RV Parking Wanted ~
Will be in the Stevensville, MD area at the end of May, early June, and are searching for a place to park and stay in our RV for a few months while we explore the East Coast.
We have a 24' RV with a small vehicle towed behind.
We have pets, so area must be pet friendly.
We are quiet and will keep our area clean and clutter free and will pick up after our animals

.
We would prefer (but not a must) power and water hook ups.
If you are interested please respond with information and details of what you can rent and where it is located.
Pictures would be nice.
And let us know how much you would charge.
We would also be interested and available to care-take properties etc. in exchange for a spot.

Seems like an odd way to find a campground when you can easily get six listings via the GS campground finder or you might try something radical like a google search.

It sounds to me that the OP wants to rent private property and is not looking for a CG.
I don't think a google search would help for that type of search.
There's no harm in posting the ad on CL, maybe it will help, especially the part about property care-taking

I think it's a good idea. Lots of people must be looking for extra cash to stay afloat, and you parking there might be a low-impact way of making that happen. Win-win. Good luck.

I think it's a great idea. No harm in asking. And like the Good Luck Duck said, I think there would be lots of people out there looking for an easy way to make some extra money.

Interesting approach. I had never considered that avenue.

There is a Yahoo group that may interest you. It is called Driveways and Backyards. It is a venue for offering overnight parking for travelers but someone on the group may be able to offer longer term parking. It seems intended to be the RV form of couch surfing.
