We are seriously considering moving up to Class A from our current 5th Wheel.

Found a new 2011 Entegra Insignia 36CKFL. List is $282,631. For sale for $169,998 (40% off list). Thought to offer about $140,000. My thinking is that as soon as I sign, I own a 1, almost 2, year old coach.
I guess the worst that will happen is that the dealer will not accept my offer. The question is how low will he go?

Any thoughts on this will be appreciated.

Thanks.

First of all I would try to determine why no one else has wanted this unit. If it takes a huge markdown to sell now it could be hard to sell later.

At 40% off, you can about guarantee someone is losing a lot of money already. Wonder why?
I would recommend you not buy it only because of the price drop but buy it if you are sure this unit will work for your family.

Some times the best deals are the ones you walk away from.

You never know unless you ask how low he will go. Let him know honestly that you are ready and willing to buy a new motor home. If not his, than someone else's. If he can make even a small profit on a sale, he will not let you leave his lot without selling you a coach.

My suggestion would be wait, pull back and keep searching. You can find a pretty good used unit that fits your needs and not get hit with the depreciation. Maybe save yourself $30-$50k.
You will need it for the gas tankGood luck.

The price is almost exactly the NADA "low retail" for this MH. I'm not sure why the depreciation on a new MH (as opposed to used) would be this severe, but unless there is something wrong with it (unlikely) it looks like all the depreciation has been allowed for.

Dan, I would tell them I'll buy that coach $140,000.00 out the door and see what they say or counter offer. If the counter offer is in your ballpark of figures (how far you actual want to spend) go for it! The worst thing that they can tell you is no!

If this is the coach you want with the amenities and layout you want, go for it.

The 2013's are out, so this is an 'end-of-year' model twice over. So I don't think it has been discounted "too much".

One thing I would ask for is an extended warranty to be included free of charge.

It can't hurt to make the offer. With the price of fuel lately, they might be looking to make a deal.

Good luck.

I have spent the past 6 weeks in Florida, there are mohos for sale everywhere you look. With gas and diesel going up again there will be many good deals. I look at the fuel situation like if you save $25,000 on a moho you can put a lot of $5 fuel in it. If you really want a DP go for it. WE enjoy ours.

That is a pretty good price. No way they will go to $140K. Maybe $165K. If you like it, buy it.
