I am going to pulling a 1984 S10 4x4 with a Tow Bar from Washington to California. I plan to pull both front and rear driveline for the trip and wire in some trailer tow lights.

My question is on the safety chains do I hook them up to the tow bar like a normal trailer or do they have to go back to the truck?

Yup and I'll throw in that they should be crossed.

OK Thanks guys, after thinking about it for a bit I pretty much decided that is the way it should be.
