1956 Ford, Fairlane, I think. Grey and White with a pinkish and white tinted interior. 292 Y block.
Girls loved that car so did the guys. Lots of Friday and Saturday nights memories.

Regular licence: My uncle's 1979 F-250 4x4 XLT Ranger, 351M and T19 4-speed on 33" tires. The tester said I was the first one he'd seen in years with a manual transmission. Passed the first time, never told the score.
CDL: 1984 Ford L7000, 22' sideloader soda truck (old Pepsi truck), GVWR 28,500, gas 370, Spicer 5-speed, 2-speed axle, 10.00-20 tube tires in front, top speed 55MPH at 3000RPM (5.89 gears). Passed the first time, I think I scored 88...I lost points on every parking maneuver because I had to pull up due to the truck's huge turning radius. The space alloted is 10' longer than the vehicle...the L7000 had a 270" wheelbase (same as the 26' box truck I drive now) & almost no rear overhang.
Liz got her licence in her father's 1979 Toyota 4x4 pickup (20R/4-speed)...with bashed sheetmetal, cutout fenders, flatbed, intake snorkel up to the roof, and 35" tires.
She got her CDL on a Ford C6000 30' ramp truck (GVWR 32,500), with a turbo 3208 Cat and Spicer 5+2. She passed with a 92. (Lost 2 points each on the pre-trip & the backing maneuvers, and four for shifting during a turn.) She surprisingly did NOT lose any points for starting the engine with the examiner standing right near the exhaust pipe. (Anyone familiar with a Cat 3208 will know what I mean.)

1950 Mercury 4 door with 3 on the tree. What a car. Had a 60' turning radius so I failed the parallel parking, but still passed. The last year we lived in Montana (Dad was working at the GN RR home office in Minnesota) my brother (he had a license) and I used to "blow the carbon out" between Havre and Chinook. Would bury the speedo (110mph speedo). That was a great flathead V8.
