We have a 2007 Winnebago MH, it came with a Magnadyne M9900CDS radio in the dash. The radio display worked fine until a few weeks ago. Now when the radio is off it no longer displays the time of day and there's no display light. Usually these are on when the radio is off. It behaves the same when the engine is running or when off. Yet the display works fine when the radio is turned on (and it has the correct time too).
Any suggestions how to trouble shoot would be appreciated.
Last resort I'll call Winn and Magnadyne.

The only suggestion I have is to toss it in the trash. Then check out the many great sites like Crutchfield and purchase a good unit. We bought our RV new in 2009 and replaced the Magnadyne within two weeks of taking delivery of the rig. I repair Radios TV Converters Inverters and the like, we tossed the Magnadyne in the trash.

It most likely has more than one power source...............check for a blown inline fuse, breaker somewhere.
Or ....it is a cheap unit, buy a quality replacement .

Push the radio reset button on the front of the radio. Its between the preset5, band andEQ buttons, its recessed and you will need a small pointer to push it in. You will need to hold it in for at least 10 seconds to completely reset the radio (5 seconds did not work).
We have the same radio and the exact same problem. After a quick reset push didnot correct the problem, I checked every conceivable fuse, all OK. After pushing and holding for at least 10 maybe 15 seconds everything now works as before, even the funny characters in the display have disappeared.

I don't know a Megnadyne from squat, but I can tell you that this is a feature that is selectable on most modern radios. If you don't still have the manual, see if you can download one. I wanted the Sony in my tracker to do what yours is doing, but it was perpetually on. I managed to change it.

Beverly & Ken were right !! I held reset for 15 sec and it now works perfectly. Glad it was this easy. A lot better than having to buy something. I need to fix and repair as much as I can right now vs replace with new.
