Has anyone used the Coleman "Instant Up Tent " ?
It is a new product in their lineup.
Six months ago a small vendor was displaying a fairly durable and expensive line of tents at Costco that look similar in design to the new Coleman Instant Up Tent. I have been trying to find them on the internet, but to no avail.
The Coleman product is cheaper but clearly is not made of the same materials.
My tents have been the 4 season Eureka Timberline Outfitter 6 and Outfitter 4. I gave my Outfitter 6 to my son and now I wish I had it back.
My last boating/tent trip we got caught in fowl weather the last 2 days. I set up my Quick Shade canopy over my tent and we stayed dry but it took two structures to do that.
Hoping for experiences with an instant up tent.
If not then I see another Timberline Outfitter 6 in my future.

What a coincidence. Just yesterday I was at Bass Pro Shop and happened to see the Coleman Instant Up Tent and was wondering if I should replace my Timberline Outfitter 6 that I have had for way too many years than I want to admit. Back in the ice age when I was a Boy Scout we had the timberline tents and used them for all seasons. They withstood sun, wind, rain, ice, and snow and combinations of all. But mine is old and worn out. I liked the built in lights and fan of the Coleman tent. I might have to go back and check it out. But, I'm going to investigate Costco, too.

On Amazon, the Coleman Instant 6 tent has a 4 1/2 out of 5 star rating and costs $135 or thereabouts.
I have never tried them, but they do look like they would be easy to put up.

I have no info on the Coleman but couldn't resist commenting on the Timberline. I too got a Timberline 2-man when I was in Scouting. Exactly 25 years later my daughter used it for two weeks last summer. Still works great. It is faded, and the floor will never quite be the same color but it still keeps the bugs and the rain out. Eureka products are not the lightest but they seem bombproof.

I've seen quite a vfew ads for this tent lately. Just google it. there are several videos showing how easy and fast they set up. Some of the people on a couple other forums I visit think they are great.

One of our Cub Scout families bought an Coleman Insta-tent for a family camp and boy was that the topic for the weekend. They pulled it out of the box (fresh from the store) and had it set up in under 5 minutes. Super easy. Just a easy to take down. Everybody wanted to get one after that.

I haven't seen the Coleman but is it similar to a pop up tent? I've seen these advertised and am always curious about their overall strength and quality. I know Yukon Trails has a line of easy up tents but again I've never had the pleasure of trying them out.

We used an "instant up" tent for a few years and enjoyed it. The rain fly was not great but we live in the desert so didn't much care. I could never get the hang of twisting it "just so" to get it back into its bag but my wife as adept at it. The biggest gripe I had was that when it was stowed it was still bigger than I liked; not convenient for stowing in a car's trunk but ok for a pickup bed. When our last one got worn we just bought a regular rectangular tent.
