I'm awaiting the delivery of a new Sanibel 3400 5er. When it gets here, the DW and I have decided to put it in covered storage. The price includes electric. Initially we'll be in a fully enclosed garage/condo with 50A service until a space outside opens up. Once outside, it'll be 15A service.
The new rig has a battery cut-off switch. Trying to decide if I want to leave it plugged in all of the time, or just swing by a few days before we plan to leave, plug it in, and get the fridge and such in order.
Are there any problems with leaving it plugged in all the time? It will be close by and will be checked on regularly. It will also be used roughly once a month except for football season when we don't have any free weekends to camp due to my son's football schedule.
Also, I wouldn't leave any of the components like the ac or fridge on while in storage. It would be mostly to keep the batteries charged and possibly run a dehumidifier during the high humidity summer months.

Mine has always been plugged in while in storage for neary 5 years now.
Usually nothing on until a few days before I get ready to travel. But is convenient to have power ready when I go there to check it, work on it, or otherwise do something in it.

Agree. We keep ours plugged in between trips here at the house (turn on the fridge a few days before each trip).

if you leave it plugged in while in storage, be very diligent about checking the battery water level every 2 or 3 weeks. Some converters do not go into a "float mode" and can boil a battery dry if it does happen to overcharge the battery.

We leave ours plugged in and run an electric heater to keep it warm inside. I do check the batteries often but that's more because I'm paranoid than because I need to. I would think that any brand new RV would come equipped with a smart charger.

Our Southwind is always plugged in when not being used. I check the battery water level every month.

Depends on how good your converter/charger is in the RV. I'd recommend you come by and check the battery fluid level at least once a month until you know how much (if at all) it boils the water out. In GENERAL terms, don't know of any ADVANTAGE to continual charging so the simplest and safest way of storing is to unplug and isolate the batteries.
