We plan to leave the RGV on March 12/12 and make our way north along the coast.
Do we need to make reservations for a few days or up to a week in Port Aransas or Rockport then the same in Galveston? After that we will make our way north making stops along the way to Elkhart IN for an appointment at Forest River on April 2.

I'm at Galveston Island State Park now. Its, at most, half full during the week but nearly full on weekends. It was packed during Mardi Gras last week.

Passed the state park on Mustang Island today and it was about half full, lots of rigs leaving Port A, Aransas Pass and Rockport returning home. Remember that spring break is in a couple of weeks, traffic on the island and such will be slow and packed. I would call ahead if I was in your position.

Galveston Island St Park you go out to the sea wall and hang a right and follow the signs if you are in Galveston city. Its about 10-12 miles outa town and there isnt much as far as shopping out there except a gas station and pizza place so make sure you hit Walmart on the way out. The park is back up and running but nothing to write home about. It is nice to be parked just over the dune from the water though....If you're gonna be there on the weekend call ahead.

More interested in amenities of the re built park, rather than number of people there at the moment.
