To those new epic owners how is the upgraded/heated mattress in the epic? Does it sleep ok? Mine will be here soon and was wondering if it will be a problem.

We slept on it the first night and were surprised how much we liked it. We asked the dealer about the "heat" function and no-one could tell us anything about it which was the case on most things – we seemed to know more about the TH than the salesman did. Anyway, we decided to keep the plastic on the mattress until it was definite we wanted to keep it. We took the plastic off last week and guess what.... we found the controls to the heater (separate for each side). Have not tried it yet, but glad we finally solved that mystery.

12V or 120V?

Been thinking of a heated mattress pad to warm up before tucking in on those cold nights.....

Thanks for the heads up on the controls. I also find the epic is new and most dont know alot about it. I wont be picking it up now for a few more days due to a slide issue that needs to be fixed found on walk through. I was hoping the mattress would be ok and I would not need to replace it for a while. Thanks for the replys.

120v - one controller with separate adjustments for each side

Mine has a controller for each side (king size). I use it all the time- it's awesome! Heat stays on for 8 hours and automatically turns off (if you don't turn it off sooner). I even have a 4 inch memory foam topper on top of the mattress from Bed Bath and Beyond.
As far as the mattress, never used it without the add on topper. Wife did once for a nap in the driveway and said it killed her back- hence the topper.

We spent two weeks in ours on the maiden voyage. It was pretty stiff, but with use it seems to be softening up a bit.
If you have young'ens, have them jump up and down on the bed to help break it in

My wife LOVES the heat function, but neither one of use likes how stiff the mattress is. I've slept on floors that felt more comfortable.

DodgeVoltage, you can use the heat function and feel it through the topper? If that's the case our mattress may stick around longer than I thought, I was going to swap it for the tempurpedic that was in the apt.

I had it wrong; it is two controllers etc as DodgeVoltage states here. It is really nice on a cold night and you can keep the propane heater on low.
A soft mattress makes my back hurt so it is on the firm side.

Sure can. Turn it on 30 minutes ahead of time and it is nice and warm.
