I also posted this on the crossroad site but figured I would get a quick response.
Hey folks
Need a little help. Our basement door has three latches. 2 thumb latches on the outside and a 751 lock in the middle.
Well for some reason, the middle one does catch, it's like the front got torked or twisted...so my work around was to install two locks on the outside and just leave the center as non working.
If they made an offset cam about 1/4 longer it would catch the back of the lip on the door.
Does anyone have any idea where I can find a longer cam to make this work?
Thanks

I had to bend the "cams" a little on some of mine and they now work just fine.

The bend isn't the issue, the cam itself needs to be longer to make contact with the back of the lip on the inside.

The cam locks come in different lengths. Sounds like someone may have swapped out with the wrong length. Quick Bing Search came up with all kinds but 5/8 and 7/8 lengths are common. Randu

thank you,
There are different depths for the lock assembly and different cam lengths. What I need is just the cam.

Your local locksmith should have different length cams at a reasonable price.

CW has 751 locks on the peg hooks. You may find it less expensive and less time consuming by just replacing the lock.

Something bent, like the entire door...the cam isn't long enough to even grab the back of the lip.
Just need a 1/4 longer cam and it will be good to go.
