Good to hear everything works and the heater does the job. The heater I have has a single gas valve and no provision for an outboard thermostat. You'd likely have to get into the gas valve and interupt the temp sensor to get an on-the-wall thermostat into the loop. We always just opened a vent or two if got too hot and, if the weather was not severe, idled along on the pilot. I'm sure you'll end up with a good solution, even Henry Ford changed a few things at the beginning, lol.
The Sunline looks like a good mate for your truck.
Glad to hear that you had a great trip. My son and I have been watching this and the other remodeling post and now he wants to do one. Problem is he's only turning 10 in a month. lol Told him I know what we're going to do for another father-son project when he gets a little older. He's already looking around for one. Crazy kid!!!
After installing the battery last week I realized the converter was toast. The charging circuit was bad and it wouldn't pass power from the battery to the distribution panel. I made a quick jumper and got through the weekend, but I knew I needed a new converter. This one was archaic in design anyways, and only had a 5 amp charging circuit.
A buddy of mine at this event we were at had two converters he wasn't using, both brand new, and offered to give me a 45 amp Progressive Dynamics. Perfect, it's what I would've ordered. I picked up a 6 circuit fuse block from Advance Auto and I also have a Tri-Metric battery monitor that was part of a Craigslist score. Just waiting for a shunt to come in before I can install that.
Got the stereo installed also. A cheapo car stereo and a couple 2 way speakers in the ceiling, sounds pretty good for what it is. I needed to get this in after last weekends trip. We had nothing where we were at, no tv signal, no cell phone, couldn't even get a radio station on the portable radio I brought along. Didn't bring a book either, so late evenings before bed were boring.
I used a piece of cherry to beef up the stereo mount, it's screwed in from the backside. I also wired in a power switch so I can kill it completely, the single switch to the left of the stereo. Just have to hook up the antenna wire now.
My present TT has a big car type antennae on the roof and it hits on tree branches all the time. Our new tractors have a radio antennae that is just a loop of wire below the top of the fiberglass cab. I know your trailer is made from steel but, I just wanted to mention some options.
You are out and enjoying yours and mine is on the back burner as spring is here early and flood irrigating has started.
Secondly, well for easy flow we'll just say secondly, a tri-metric, wow.
Those are some $$ and I have yet to see one used for a price I'm willing to pay.
Adding a decent radio/ TV/ DVD is one of my pre wire cut the holes when I get there projects.
Particularly some speakers in the ceiling and perhaps even few outside.
Thanks for rubbing it in, Great work.

Repo, I got the Trimetric from a Craigslist add along with a Xantrex C60 charge controller, Xantrex digital display and a Xantrex battery temp sensor, all brand new, for the whopping price of $130 for all of it! That's about $500 worth of goodies. I used the Xantrex digital display and batt temp sensor at my camp where I have a solar and wind system. I've been saving the Trimetric for just this purpose, and the C60 I may need someday. It was a great score indeed!
Oooh, electronic goodies!!! That's a nice setup and it all seems to fit like it was made for the space. Is that battery a Nothern Tool's AGM battery? Can't quite make out the numbers.
Also unseen, the BAF (Big A*& Fuse) from the battery positive post. What did you use for that? Sorry about all the nagging questions but you seem to have a good handle of the 12v. side of things and a guy can't get enough info about that, it seems.
Tunes, yeah I know you like 'em and so do I. I've been thinking about getting in a 12v system besides the 120v outfit I had planned on. No reason not to because I'm sure I have a 12v headunit around here. I'm wondering if a guy could have an A/B switch to play through the same speakers? Shouldn't be an issue I'm thinking. I'm still working on a new pair of DIY speakers. I keep hem-hawing around between a straight BR two-way box and a single driver TL. What did you put into the Sunline?
U P, you don't have the battery inside the TT do you? If so you really should move it to the outside. All batteries out gas, yes even the so called "sealed batteries". Then there is the possibility of the battery over charging and exploding.
Trust me it happened to me, luckily the batteries are mounted on the tongue and when it exploded I found parts of the battery case and holder about 20 feet from the TT, not to mention acid!.

Don, yeah the battery is basically inside under the booth. There is an outside access door for this area, and I'm using the city water hookup hole for a 3" vent. It's pretty well sealed from the inside living area. I really didn't want it outside on the tongue where it's subject to sometimes very cold temps, and vulnerable to theft.
I'm not concerned honestly. It won't be charging when I'm using it, and the PD converter does a good job and won't overcharge the battery. I've been working with 12v systems for 20 years, a lot of RE systems including my own at my camp, plus the campers I've had and never an issue.
Btw that must have been scary when the battery exploded! I've honestly never seen nor heard of it happening with a standard wet cell battery. What kind was yours and why do you figure it blew up?

West, it's a regular wet cell battery. I get the Northern brand from a buddy who owns an electric motor repair shop, and does solar/wind RE systems. I know they're not from Northern Tools and I think they are a regional battery brand, not sure. Been using them for decades. Normally I would use 2 - 6v golf cart batteries, but with the little power I'm using only wanted one to save on weight. This is the big group 31 EV(electric vehicle) battery and is a true deep cycle unlike the marine batteries you can get at the stores.
My speakers are Sony 2 way car stereo speakers mounted in the ceiling. Had them laying around here forever. I figure you will come up with some serious tunes in yours, compared to what I have. I can just picture your rig "thumpin"(guess that's what the kids call it these days) out in a field at a vintage audio/homebrew festival lol. Sure is nice to have a system in mine now, was working to Taj Mahal last night, one of my favorite blues artists.
