HELP! On our new 2012 Roo 23SS the pump and water heater switches are right beside the couch. When you bring in the slide you have about ½” clearance. If you lay on the couch you can accidently hit them with your feet. I am trying very hard to find a cover. Nothing I have seen is skinny enough for the slide and still big enough to fit over them both. My daughter has already hit it twice. Luckily the HHT was completely turned off. No power/no battery/no propane.
Any and all ideas are welcome!

Can you make your own out of sheet metal? A lot of lumber companies sells that sort of thing. You cold also a shallow electric box and leave the cover loose so that you can get to the switches. Many other ideas are sure to be posted as well.

Somebody here showed their cover, made using a plastic fishing tackle box. It was only a couple bucks, and provided great protection from accidental contact.

What if you use the mod that danager showed with the tackle box, but cut the box part off, leaving tabs (from the box) attatched to the hinges to mount just the lid over your switches, since you said you only have 1/2" of clearance w/your slide in. It wouldnt lock, but the switches will be covered so you won't accidently bump them. Also if you need access to them when the slide is in, just put a velcro dot on the lid to hold it in the open position when the slides in.

Other than filling the holes there is no reason not to move the switches anywhere you want them. Our '06 Roo 23SS water pump and heater switches are over in the cabinet next to the door where they don't get in the way. The slide switch in over the dinette area, next to the porch light switch.
Is the cabinet there still bolted shut? We fitted hinges and a latch to ours. You could easily mount those two switches on a panel inside that cabinet. Other than not seeing the red light on the pump switch there are no reasons not to. Still gotta fill the holes in the wall, but a blank switch plate cover will to that and you could mount the water pump light there.

Without a picture it is hard to visualize your situation. We did move our water heater switch with no problems. The existing wire length allowed us to move the switch around the corner. I wonder what the manufacturer or dealer might say? If you are having problems possibly others are as well. My daughter was flippin the switch where it was originally.

Chuck's suggestion has been used on our '07 ROO with success. DH built an entertainment center that sits on that cabinet next to the door where our water pump, etc are also mounted, just like Chuck's. In our case we needed the electric receptacles inside the cabinet, so he just turned them around and got the blank cover. Looks neat and tidy. Wonder why they moved those switches - not one of their better ideas.
Re the hinges on those doors - fast, easy and makes for an easier time getting in and out for winterizing the water system.

Another thought....how 'bout a piece of plexiglass cut to size. You can "box" it by making the sides just narrow enough to allow the slide to close. About 4 velcro sticky dots at the corners and you could remove it easily and you can see through the plexiglass to check the water pump switch. If you really want to get fancy, a couple of small hinges at the top would let you just lift it to use the switches.
