Yes, I'm on it and because of that I have made contact with numerous people from my past who I thought were permanently lost. Just last week my company commander contacted me and he has tons of pictures that he's going to send me.

My son talked me into it when we hit the road......
I just couldn't see the benefit.......and the lack of privacy with 'friends' being able to read the comments and the requests to 'friend me' from people I didn't know and then the invites to 'farmland'........dumped it.
I call my son to talk and e-mail him with info.......that's all the 'networking' I need.

Yes and a good way to get in touch with and communicate with old friends. However, as is the case with all such sites--including this one, a few people will simply dominate the postings with everyday, uninteresting, stream of consciousness drivel about themselves. Once identified and dealt with, Facebook then can be a great place to stay informed with friends, make announcements, discuss matters of interest without censorship.
Not for everyone and not a good place to share intimate (usually boring) thoughts but otherwise Facebook is fun.

I bet that some of these responses to Facebook on here are very similar to what they would have been when telephones first came out!
