Yes, you may find it refreshing, but for those that don't like it, just know there are HUNDREDS of styles out there that may better suit your taste. Like coffee? Well then a porter or stout may be for you!
We hope to hear from you soon!
Safe travels!

Maria, how true this is! I have never liked beer UNTIL this past weekend!! My friends talked me into going to a brewfest. I thought, ehh...ok, they are fun to hang with so I'll just wander around! OMG...as you said, I am a coffee drinker and I loved the porters!! There were even chocolate, choc mint, coffee and vanilla flavors that I absolutely loved! Now my friends say I am a beer snob! LOL!!
All breweries, including Miller, Budweiser, Coors, all started out as craft breweries. As they grew, and demand for their products increased, they grew in size and production. As breweries grow, when do they stop becoming craft breweries? Our family has a saying as we are German and all started drinking beer at an early age. "All beer is good, some is just better than others". It's all a matter of preference. To disparage any brand is to criticize people who happen to like that brand. That being said, traveling to and visiting breweries accross the country sounds like fun.
Here is a place at Buckeye Lake, Ohio. It just opened this past Superbowl Sunday. I have never been there but am pretty sure it is near the KOA campground.

If you ever find yourseles in Tiera del Fuego(End of the World) you will need to find a good place to quaff a pint and I happen to know there is a good Brewery just a little South and East of town. I can't remember the name off hand and I don't know where our photo album is from our trp to Antarctica so I can't give you the name. It is the Southern most brewery in the world and they brew a mean smokey Porter. The expedition ship we traveled on to Antarctica served it and I converted one or two shipmates to the goodness of porters.
Eagle Rock has two micros, Eagle Rock and Golden Road, pretty good.
I forgot some of my favorites, a couple have gone beyond micro and are full fledged breweries but still unique. Starting in Hawaii is the Kona Brewing Co. and as the name suggests it is in Kona. Blacksand Porter and their roast beef sandwich, awesome.
Up North in Oregon is Rogue Brewing Co. They now have a distillery and farms where they grow their own hops and malts. Shakespear Stout and a hamburger in the Public House on the North side of the Bridge in Old Town. E/O Bonnyville Dam is Full Sale Ale, good golden and pale ales.
In Whitehorse in the Yukon Terr. is Yukon Brewing Co. Small but tasty.
In Homer on the Soth side of the spit by the lake is Homer Brewing Co. Look at the founding date and lable and see if you can figure what comet is pictured.
Back doum in California is Mammoth Lakes Brewing Co. on the East side of the Sierra at the town of Mammoth Lakes of course, take your own growler in on Thursday and it's only $5.00 to fill. Try the Double Nut Brown.

We have knocked back a few from Rogue both at the brewery below the bridge and in Old Town. Also have to give a thumbs up for Yukon Brewing - they make a great Red.
