Doug is correct. Kohler RV units were junk. That is why they got out of the RV business. The Diesel units for RVs was pretty good. But the gas ones were junk. They do build great Standby units. Some of the best out there.

Please do not tell the 20 year old one in our MH with 600 hours on it.

Are you confusing Kohler Plumbing with Kohler Power Units? What I state is simple. I experianced MORE problems with Kohler RV units than any other brand and that is when ONAN had the majority of the market. So, Kohler did NOT have as many, but I saw more problems on Kohler than Onan. I personally would be hesitant to buy a motorhome with a Kohler IF having the APU was a item I was going to need on a regular basis. Doug

Well cwit it is true. The gas RV units were junk. Now the little ones they used on air compressors. Would run for ever. I have seen some of them that looked like mud balls and you would think they were done for. Crank em up and they ran good. Kohler has some very good engines and generators, but RV units is where they made a blunder.
