I have the 2011 edition of both Next Exit and Exit Now. In deciding which I wanted to concetrate on using I checked the accuracy of the listings on I-70 and I-64 near my home. I found Exit Now to be terribly inaccurate so we only use Next Exit. I figure that with so many local errors Exit Now probably was not too accurate in other areas as well.
Wde have Next Exit but routinely use I Exit app on our Iphone and I pad. Very helpful and will filter your search and tell you how far away for other exits as well.

I have used Exit Now for a few years. I currently have 2011.
I recently purchased Next Exit 2012 (I thought I was buying the updated Exit Now).
Here are my observations:
I much prefer the spiral binding of Exit Now. It allows you to easily leave it open to the proper page. I also prefer the layout by interstate to the layout by state of Next Exit. I also find the print in Exit Now easier to read.
The only advantages I can see to Next Exit is that it is cheaper, both in price and quality. However, some may prefer the state by state layout. Next Exit also seems to have many more dining options listed, but we usually eat in the trailer anyway.

We do not routinely travel the Interstates. Sure wish someone would create a book or app for the US and State highways!

I use neither. Just read the road signs as they come up. Usually enough warning for me as to what is available at the next exit. Can't read book and drive while spouse snoozes.
