I did not say Rvers out-number those who don't tow, etc. I said we were PROBABLY the largest SINGLE GROUP. Group means we have an affiliation (or Affinity, if you will), while the daily driver/non RVers are not part of a group. You will believe what you want anyway.
Ploiselle, yes, I am not renewing my GS membership as I do not see any benefit from it other than rv park discounts which I can get by being a senior, etc.

Come on, get real, I seriously doubt that Good Sam would have much influence in lowering fuel prices in this country. They might save you a few pennies (per gallon) on fuel with some of their affiliates but have no chance of making oil prices drop just because they represent a portion of RVers. Sure wish it was that easy.

Yup.
The cost of fuel is way larger than Good Sam.

What they do for advertising is their business. Do you complain about the auto manufactures advertising? Why aren't they doing anything about gas prices instead of spending their money on advertising?
Why aren't you bashing congress for letting the oil company's take billions in subsidies, but does nothing to control their profits?
If you don't like the way Good Sam does things, IMHO you should drop your membership.

We shouldn't be pushing to add to the lobbyists - they should all be outlawed!

My opinion, (that and a dime won't buy a cup of coffee anymore) is that the Good Sams and AARP's have nothing to do with RVers or geezers best interests. Its all about advertising and marketing to a particular group.

I hate to be so blunt, but it is what it is and that is how businesses operate. Last I checked, no for profit org operated on altruism.
That isn't all bad either. Commerce is necessary in our economy. I have zero problems with companies operating to make money. When they make money, it gives us choices, and jobs.
