Just made resrvations for the middle of March for a weekend at this great state park. We love this place. It's only about 45 minutes from home. The sites are spacious and the parking pads are paved. We normally go several times a year. This will be our first outing for the year and a shakedown trip. Then a few weeks after that will be our first week long trip to Myrtle Beach...woohoo!

Google Maps says its about 60 miles and I don't know exactly where the OP is driving "from" and "to" so it could be less. 45 minutes would be close I guess.

Yes it is only about 45 minutes from us, maybe pushing an hour, but that is it. robsouth is thinking of Stone Mountain Georgia. We are referring to a state park in NC.

BUT I agree with you and we love to hike up the great trail to the rock wall and sit and have lunch. waterfalls are great also
