I'm partial to the Seagate FreeAgent GoFlex line of drives . . . you can get them in USB2, SB32 and ESata. I have 3 of the 1tb, and a couple smaller ones, and use them to store videos, movies and DVDs in the RV. I got mine at BestBuy (before the prices went up), but I've seen them lately at Walmart and Costco as well.

I have the Seagate FreeAgent also. Seems reliable and priced right. No complaints here. I got mine at Costco. Good price and great return policy.

I heard that Seagate has had some bad reviews recently, while I have a Western Digital, and it has worked great for me.

You might want to check this link.

I have a year old 750 GB or 1 TB (Can't remember that far back) Western Digital hard drive that plugs into my USB 2.0 port. They say that 3.0 is 3 times faster. I guess I can do a complete backup of my 4 GB hard drive time and again before filling it up.

I have an Hitachi 2 TB external, a 2 TB Western Digital Green drive I added to my Desktop. I have 3 Western Digital 1TB Essential "Book" external drives for movies in the house, 2 TV's and in the TC 1 drive there. Each 1 TB holds almost 1200 movies in .AVI form that my Computer or media players play. The only drive I had a problem with, knock on wood, was a 320 GB Maxtor external drive. Hope this helps.

You might wait a bit. The floods in Thailand has driven up the price of hard drives.

i have (2) Acom external drives, and (1) seagate go flex 2tb drive

the fastest one is the 750gb Acom with "firewire" port

I really miss firewire, if your PC has firewire get a drive that supports that connection

all (3) of my drives have performed flawlessly

Go to newegg and click sort by Best Rating. Read the reviews of the drives that fit your needs and then go from there. They have 319 Products.
