We are looking at a 2012 Jep Liberty sport 4x4 as a TOAD.
Any personal experience feedback?
Thanks

a 2010 lib is one of our toads and we love it. hooks up in minutes, no speed, time or distance restrictions, plenty of room for the two of us plus stuff. no key needed in the ignition to tow which means no fuses to be pulled. the curb weight of our '10 is right around 4200-lbs.

The 2012 Liberty is essentially the same as the automatic 08 Jeep Liberty 4x4 that I tow. It is 'plug & play'; no steering lock, no key in the ignition, no starting requirements, no lube pumps or driveshaft disconnect. Just hitch it up, put the transfer case in neutral, gear shift lever in Park andp go.
It is our daily driver and has been virtually trouble free since we bought it new.

We pull our 04 lib with a 06 Pace Arrow 36D, I think the Liberty is just to heavy for a big gasser. If buying now would look for something lighter.

I was not aware that you could tow a 4 x4 Liberty without damaging the transmission. Could it also be towed on a dolly with front wheel up? I currently tow a MINI Cooper on a tow dolly but would like something a bit bigger for when we take the grand kids. We tow with a 2008 Fleetwood Vista with Ford V10.

As long as the transfer case has a neutral switch a Liberty can be towed wether auto or standard 4 down. Don't know about a dolly. If it can be towed 4 down why would you want a dolly. seems like a lot of extra work and PITA.
Needs to be the SelectTrack II Full Time Trans.

Why would you want to tow it on a dolly when it was made to be flat towed (4 down)?

My Liberty is only about 4400 lbs and tows really well with our 8.1L Workhorse chassis with the Allison 6-speed. Our coach is just under 35' and the difference with or without the toad is less than 1-mpg.
