Just passed a Class A, older motorhome, going down the hiway. What caught my eye was, the front was considerably higher then the rear........plus the rear was tilted to one side. It was also towing a car, which I coulnd't tell if it was on a trailer or a tow dolly. What really got my attention was, this motorhome had a tag axle.....and at least on the side I could see, there was no tire, or rim on the fron axle of the tag system.......no wonder it was leaning.

No need to be concerned! It was just Jed, Granny, Ellie-May and Jethro go'n camp'n!
Hint...was there a rocking chair tied onto the roof?
The intelligent, well read and illustrious members of this Forum would never do something like THAT!

Them tires is expensive! When they go flat, jest yank 'em off & ride the rims. Rims will last much longer.
fordsooperduty - is that a family photo?

Something does not make sense. The front axle in most tag systems is the drive wheel. This could only mean that this must have been a front wheel drive motorhome, maybe a GMC??. The Revcon has a tandem setup, but does not sag because of the torsion bar on the walking beam - ask me how I know.

I am sure it wasn't a tag axle coach as the tag axle is simply that, a tag. The axle in front of the tag is the drive axle. If it was an older TANDEM axled coach, perhaps he had a flat and simply removed that tire/rim until he got to the next town to replace/repair it....how fast was he traveling....?....Dennis

It might have been the rear axle of the tag, I'm not 100% sure, he was going the opposite direction on a divied hiway, so I'm sure he was doing 55mph or faster. He was going past a town of 80,000 people. So I don't think he was looking for somewhere to have it worked on. It was an older motorhome, I'm not sure what make, I'd guess a mid 80's or so year.

Finally Fulltiming said "fordsooperduty - is that a family photo?"...
No, that's actually my Arkansas mountain cousins...Big Darell, Little Darrel and Grizzly Darell (also known as Harry) taken on the day they finally graduated from High School.
We was sooooo proud!
