If you end up sleeping in your car while camping - do you need to crack open a window for ventilation? or do you keep all the windows closed? (referring to cold weather and/or severe thunderstorms  .

If you are pulling a TT why not sleep in that? The windows would depend on you and the weather. It can get steamy in a car with a couple of people and no ventilation. I wouldn't do more than crack a window or two for security reasons. But for us if anyone tried to break in they would be very sorry.

Would this be because of some marital discord?  I can sympathize. Your car will get very steamy in those conditions unless you crack a window.

I would hope that you are not talking about really hot weather as it would get hot as hades in there.

If you aren't running the engine for heat, it shouldn't matter to much, but if it's really cold, you would probably want to run the heater....and that could be deadly.
I sleep in my car on my way home (no trailer) from work some times (630+ miles) and have a sleeping bag that I use to help keep me warm. Of course, I'm only taking a nap, so usually, when it starts getting cold again, I'm about ready to head back onto the road. I close the windows, but then, I don't have the engine running...

Not sure who are the trolls but I to don't understand why someone would want to sleep in their car if your "camping".

You would be just as safe in a RV as you would be in a vehicle during a storm. As far as cold weather if you run the engine you could go to sleep and never wake back up. But if you sleep in your RV you can turn the heat on and be warm and safe.

Yes that is not really alot of airspace and modern vehicles are so tightly sealed. At best you would end up taking back in a lot of your own exhaust. From more than one orifice.

I don't think this is a "Troll post"...let's all try to remember that the site's billed as an RV AND camping forum...
This seems like a reasonable question to ask- a pal of mine wound up sleeping in the cab of his truck on a hunting trip because his snoring drove his buddies in the trailer crazy!
He didn't run the heater, though...don't know about cracking a window.
