I have read good and bad on just about every TC made. Since I have retired I find that I can't buy the best and most expensive like past years. I bought a TC two years ago to use along with my Class A. It had been years since I had one and wanted to see if I would like it. The older ones didn't impress me years ago..Now I would like to have one more new or like new camper to finish out my years. The Palomino is quite abit cheaper Lance and many of the other leaders..I know that normally you get what you pay for but is there anyone that has good experences with this brand after owning it a few years? The biggest downfall I see right off is the small black and gray tanks...thanks for any imput..I don't want to start any wars about brands on here...

I owned a 2008 model 8801 Maverick. I found it to be a well constructed TC. Alum structure, fibeglass exterior and rubber roof. I had no component failures for the 2 years I owned it. They acheive their price point in areas other than construction. The wood work and upholstry are not as high end, and features are not what you get in higher $ units. They do use major brand components,ie refers, furnace, AC units, water pump and heater. The Bronco popup line is popular too. Palamino has grown in popularity over the years and there seems to be more dealers too. Palamino is part of Forrest River RV which is owned by Berkshire Hathaway. So its a well supported Company. Study their web site for the models and check out weights. Add about 1000 lbs to their posted weight to get a more realistic loaded weight for your truck.

I see that you own a Artic Fox 811 now...I have been looking at one this weekend on the net for sale..I have a F250 with the camp. package. From what i read on this forum, a 350 or bigger to be happy with it..I really like the 811 and the one i found is loaded, but though it might be a overload for me..how does your 2500 hold up to it..

My 2011 1000SLLB looks good and the fit is good. Very minor things I took care of but I found the factory to be very helpful and responsive if I has any questions. Some of the "little fixes" I did I see are now in their newer versions. Given a second chance knowing what I know now, I'd buy it again.

Mine's a 2000. I bought it two years ago and so far spent about 18 nights in it.

It suits my needs. Could it be nicer? Yeah. Could it be built better? Definitely.

My short list of issues:
- After 10 years the plastic shower pan got brittle and cracked around the drain.
- The lower side walls have bowed out towards the rear, making it hard to get the roof lowered for transport.
- The upper rear door doesn't fit tightly and lets rain water in.

I've had plumbing and electrical issues but those were created by the previous owner, not Palomino.
