I bought one from the manufacturer for a few measly bucks and never take it off. It has been on there now for years and is still in good shape. The jack is operable with the cover on so I just leave it that way.

Well - there you go - you don't need to worry about water intrusion. If you are worried about the harmful effects of the sun - just wipe on some 303 once in a while.

When I got my ADCO cover, it came with a 'ladder' cover. It has a velcro deal on the bottom too. I cover my Ultra Fab jack with it in the winter time. The first year I had the UF, I didn't cover. When I took the lid off to inspect the gears and see if it need more grease, there was water in it!! I re-greased the whole thing with fresh grease and started covering it ever since...

Been dry each time I've pulled the lid since then...

Just what I do..

Mitch

My barker came with a vinyl cover, but have never used it - use a plastic bucket that kitty litter came in. Fits perfect, keeps the sun and rain off, allows ventilation, and the handle is a handy place to hang the safety chains....

I picked one up from our local CW for under $10 a few years back and have rarely taken it off since it's still easy to use jack with it on. Power head still looks new and there is no way it will fall off no matter what speed your towing at.

I emailed the company I bought the jack from ...ask em where I might be able to purchase a vinyl cover ... they sent one to me @ not cost. Slip the cover over it & also put a plastic Wal-mart bag over that when it's just sittin.
