I have a 2500HD gasser. How would it perform with a 10000 5th wheel? Performance, gas mileage and any other advantages or disadvanges I would have. thanks.

I pulled a 12k with a 2006 GMC 2500HD with the 6.0. It pulled OK but on hills it was horrible. I didn't like the RPM's required to get me up the hill. Some areas I would slow down to 45 by the time I got to the top. Love the RAM won't go back.

It will work but I doubt you will like it. Extremely high RPM to get to the power band and 8-9 MPG. You might want to go lighter-10K loaded.

9k with an avg 8-9MPG. It definitely likes to wind out but it does a good job.

I do. See sig below. I wouldn't full time with this set up, but it works fine for me as a daily driver and tows well for my needs. 4:10 axle makes a big difference with the gasser.

Don't be scared of the rpm's. And yes the mileage will be a little low. I don't think I'm quite at ten k for weight but it's probably close. It gets me where I need to go with no problem.
Recently purchased a diesel but it's for business and I haven't pulled a thing yet.

Before you buy a diesel research the cost of maintenece, cost of oil Change fuel filter air filter etc. Unless you tow a lot of miles you may be better off with gas.
