Hello,

We have a 2007 21ft FunFinder. We bought it new. Its our first RV. We have had a few issues but nothing major. We love our Funfinder. One of the things that was important to us was a regular island queeen. Neither one of us wanted to sleep agains a wall! I dont think there are any full queens anymore in the newer models but not sure. We have used it alot. 3 trips from MA to the west. 2 times down the eastern seaboard to Florida. 2 times alonf the Appalachian MTs. Last April we took it to Virginia Beach for a week. And right now we are counting the days until a campground opens down the Cape the first weekend in April. We go as many weekends as we can in the spring and fall around New England. We have towed it thousands of miles. Up and down mountains and in all kinds of weather...except snow. Its perfect for us as we spend a lot of time outdoors. We visited the factory and did a tour on one western trip. In 2009 we stopped in the factory as I had left the microwave door open and the glass plate fell out and broke. And I wanted to get another shower curtain. And my husband was looking for something else. They gave us all the things we were looking for free.
At the time they didnt have slides and its something that we would have liked to have as it can get crowded with just the 2 of us on rainy days and nights. I would not hesitate to buy another one if it fit what we would be looking for. The only problem is neither of us wants to trade it in yet. We have so many wonderful memories from all the trips we have taken in our FunFinder.

That is interesting about the axles. I have a 2011 Shadow Cruiser that had both axles replaced along with one tire. All replaced under warrenty and they put heavier axles on the unit. I did not know about any recalls or problems.

I think they sort of called it a silent recall. Lippert had some bad steel that was causing them to flex, and bend, from the tire side.

I just looked up the specifications on this unit and the "dry weight" is listed as 4500 pounds. Please be advised that dry weight is simply an advertising ploy and has little to do with reality. Dry weight does not include the weight of any options,a battery, propane or propane tanks, fresh water, grey water, black water and any number of other essential things. The trailer will probably weigh at least 1000 pounds more than that when fully outfitted with all the options, equipment and supplies you are likely to take with you. In the absence of measured weight information, it is better to assume somewhere close to the GVWR weight (~6000 pounds) when selecting a tow vehicle.

Even if your tow vehicle is rated to tow 6000 pounds or more, it may not be rated to carry the actual hitch load. Once again, the listed hitch weight is pure advertising fantasy and does not represent the actual hitch weight. In the absence of real measured numbers, the best thing to do is assume 12% to 15% of the GVWR for hitch weight. In this case, the weight on the tow vehicle could easily be 700 - 800 pounds.

Here is an actual example: My trailer was listed as having a dry weight of 3550 pounds. Fully outfitted, it actually weighs 4400 pounds if I am carrying a full load of fresh water. The tongue weight was listed at 377 pounds. The actual measured tongue weigh is not quite 600 pounds.

You may already know this. Pardon me if it is unnecessary.
