Hi all:

We are starting to look at travel trailers and almost bought a zinger 23FB - we loved the outdoor kitchen. However, we'd also like to get something with a bunk so our daughter doesn't have to sleep on the couch all the time. Does anyone know of any TT that have both features and are under about 5,000 weight and under 30' total length.

I've spent hours looking and not found anything but was hoping someone might know of something. I wish the Zinger would turn the ginormoust storage space above the kitchen into a bunk - then it would be perfect for us!

Thanks,
Carrie

thought I had you covered till I go to your weight goal.

This would be too heavy for you, but great layout.

My brother in law has this trailer and it is really nice.

Would need a 3/4 or 1 ton to handle it.

If you end up having to choose between bunks or outdoor kitchen I'd vote for the bunks to stay and the kitchen to go. Although they are nice, the outdoor kitchens are more of a luxury extra item whereas the bed is more of a need (IMO).

We want the same layout. There are many manufacturers that have this design, but.... They are mosty over 26' and way over 5000lbs. We actually just upgraded our TV and are saving up to get the one we want.

I would agree, get the bunks. You can easily cook outside with a grill.. You can't, however, make your camper into bunks!

I've been looking for several months and the only thing coming close that I have found would be Keystone's Premier 31BHPR. However, even that is still too heavy (UVW 6305) and too long (35'4") for what you have asked for. Most of the Bunkhouse versions with ext kitchens have UVWs in the 7000-8000 lb range.

Just a thought, but we still carry our old camping gas stove, a 10lb bottle of propane, and camping table. I like to cook outside too. In my signature is a picture of an extended stay at the PA Grand Canon where se set up a small canopy over the outdoor kitchen.

When its just the four of us we put the stove on the picnic table that was at the site and cook right there.

On a quick search I found a Shadow Cruiser that may fit the bill or at least one to look at...

Good thread...I'd also like these features. Seeing as we just got a used one not long ago...it did have the bunk beds which was the main thing. To me camping isnt camping if you are cooking inside...so I like to do it outside. Mine does have a gas grill...but it would be cool to have the fridge, sink, and TV as well. I actually have not even used my outside grill yet...the two places we went they had BBQ pits so I just used those. Gas is good for speed but charcoal gives a much better flavor.

Most outdoor kitchen models are based on quad bunk floorplans, thus >30' and >6000 pounds dry. If those are hard requirements, the compromise of rolling up a sleeping bag for the sofa on that Zinger seem reasonable for 1 child.
